Last updated: October 2026YaaPing (yaaping.com) is a free local classifieds board. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your email address and password (stored securely by our sign-in provider); the profile details you add, such as your name and photo; and the ads, posts, comments, ratings, events, groups, photos and messages you create. Ads you publish and your public profile can be seen by anyone who visits the site. Contact details you put in an ad are shown only as you choose in that ad.
Private messages
Messages are encrypted end to end when everyone in the chat has set up messaging. If someone has not set it up yet, messages to them are not encrypted and are marked as such. Your encryption key stays on your device.
How we use it
To run the site: show your ads, let members contact each other, send account emails (confirmation, password reset, security notices), and review reports of rule-breaking content. We do not sell your information and we do not show third-party advertising.
Who processes it
Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Cloudflare (website hosting), Resend (account emails) and Anthropic (the Claude AI used for the optional AI features below). Each handles data only to provide its service to us.
AI features
Some features use Claude: the AI chat, ad-writing help, photo-based ad suggestions and automatic translation. They run only when you use them or have translation switched on. The text or photo involved is sent to Claude through our server and is not used to build a profile of you. Private messages are never sent. Use is limited per member per day.
On your device
Settings such as saved searches, bookmarks and blocks are kept on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to a private store only you can read.
Your choices
You can edit or remove your ads and profile at any time. In the app, open Profile, then Privacy and data, to download a copy of your data or delete it. To close your account completely or ask about anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond.
Children
YaaPing is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
